Welcome to Oman! You will embark in the capital city of Muscat. Muscat means “Safe Anchorage” and is a port the like of which cannot be found in the whole world. There are few high-rise blocks and even the most functional building is required to reflect tradition with a dome or an arabesque window.

After settling in on board, head out for an evening tour of the city of this magnificent land, showcasing its beauty by crimson-gold sunset and the soft lights of the night.

Pick up is at approximately 16:00 hrs. The tour begins with a photo opportunity near the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, whose grey marble merges with the gentle night-time illuminations. Next, there is a short stop near the famous Golden Gate of the National Bank of Oman and, finally, another near the Al Alam Palace.

Ad-Dimaniyat Islands Nature Reserve lies about 18 kilometres off the coast of Barka - 70 kilometres west of Muscat and is composed of nine islands. It is a fabulous area for snorkelling and diving. The reserve features pristine beaches on which the white sands are caressed by the sea’s crystal blue waters.

The reserve has a rich natural heritage and is replete with several kinds of coral reefs, including some examples that are quite rare. The island is home to a large number of sea turtles that lay their eggs and nest there. There is also an abundance of migratory and indigenous birds.

In 1984, the reserve was recognised internationally because it is located within the project of the Great Barrier Reef, considered an international nature reserve and one of the most beautiful diving locations in the Sea of Oman.

This morning after breakfast on board, you will cruise to Bimah Sinkhole, a sinkhole turned swimming hole, filled with dazzling turquoise water. In an otherwise flat area, a sinkhole formed about a third of a mile from the sea, resulting in a turquoise mix of fresh and salt water.

Geologists have confirmed the 65-foot deep pool is in fact a sinkhole, but locals hold on to the legend that a meteorite hit the spot. When the local municipality developed the area into a park to preserve and protect the hole, the name Haweat Najm (The Falling Star) Park was chosen.

Return on board and cruise to Fins Beach where you can swim in the ocean, sunbathe on the pristine white sand and enjoy the yacht’s water toys.

In the evening return to Muscat and choose either to dine ashore or dine on board. Afterwards, enjoy sundowners under the stars with glittering Muscat as your back drop.

Today is dedicated to big game fishing! If you’re in the market for the best sport fishing in the Middle East, head to the Gulf of Oman.

Straddling the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea, this is one place where you can literally hook gamefish left, right and centre! Local waters are teeming with tuna, sailfish, wahoo and giant trevally, along with a variety of snappers and groupers. Spend a little time in Oman fishing for the likes of these, and you’ll soon forget you’re anywhere near the desert.

A local Omani captain can be hired with an in-depth knowledge of the surrounding waters in order to find the best areas where you’re likely to get a great catch.

Visiting anglers will recognize many of the techniques used in Oman, from jigging and popping to trolling. Popping for giant trevally is a favourite among anglers on the south coast, while jigging is a popular way to catch longtail tuna, amberjack, Mahi Mahi, and more. Bottom fishing produces snapper, grouper, queenfish, and other species below the surface. Some anglers spearfish for barracuda, king mackerel, rainbow runner and bottom fish.
