West Nautical is recruiting a Permanent Chief Officer for a 58m Diesel Electric Hybrid, San Lorenzo New Build that is due to launch in November/December 2024.

The build is in located in La Spezia, Italy and due to be operational at the end of March 2025The Vessel will run in a Private Capacity for 1/2 years and thereafter the plan is to get the Vessel to Charter. The Summer will be a typical Med Season - St Tropez, Monaco, Sicily.

The Vessel is looking for a candidate who has a thorough understanding of the bridge and navigation systems, as well as knowledge of all safety procedures on board in case of an emergency. Being responsible for the crew means it’s very important for the Chief Officer to be of a calm nature and have the capacity to manage negative situations. Candidates who have a Trade background or Water Sports experience will be advantageous.

The Chief Officer responsibilities will be as follows:

·       Assisting the Captain with administrative and safety duties

·       Ensuring that the yacht is in all respects compliant with the relevant laws and maritime regulations (ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL)

·       Ensuring that the yacht is prepared for annual flag surveys, annual class surveys and port/flag state controls

·       Management of deck crew and maintaining crew discipline

·       Assist with regular safety drills

·       Assist weekly and monthly safety checks and maintenance

·       Conducting safety familiarisations and safety training for the crew on a regular basis

·       Proficiency in Medical Care

·       Setting watch-keeping schedules

·       Watch-keeping duties

·       Navigation and passage planning

·       Keeping all charts and publications up to date

·       Overseeing docking procedures

·       Maintenance and management of all toys and tenders

·       Deck Department budgeting and inventory

Qualifications: STCW, ENG1, PDSD, Medical Care & Chief Mate <3000 GT

Shipyard Package: 6 500.00 Eur pm, 30 days paid Vacation, MLC Contract, Medical Insurance & 1X return Flight after Trial Period

Permanent Package: 7 500.00 Eur pm, 90 days paid Vacation, Medical Insurance, MLC Contract, Medical Insurance & 2X return Flights
