West Nautical are delighted to welcome a new member to our team, Sarah Mackenzie, who joins us as Public Relations Manager.

Sarah, originally from South Africa, began a successful career at sea at the age of 18 and spent a total of 8 years working on superyachts ranging from 35 to 85 meters cruising in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Maldives.

In 2020, after departing her last position as Chief Stewardess, Sarah moved ashore to the North East of England and contacted West Nautical Managing Director Geoff Moore as they worked together on a yacht over a decade ago.

After catching up over a coffee, Sarah disclosed that she holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Public Relations Management and a lot of experience in her native country working for large companies in the PR field – this was too good an opportunity for both the company and individual not to look at working together.

Moore said: “I’m delighted to welcome Sarah to the company. With her practical yacht experience and PR education, she fits perfectly into our marketing team and will be a great asset to us as we look to push ahead in 2021.”
