West Nautical were delighted to sponsor an amazing two-day tournament on Sunday 30 and Monday 31 March at Gleneagles in Scotland hosted by Albatross Golf Holidays.

Gleneagles is a world-renowned golf resort and hotel, with three of the top golf courses in Scotland and recently hosted The Ryder and Solheim Cups, with golfers such as Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Bubba Watson having played there in the past.

The first golfers’ tee ’ed off at 10am on Sunday morning in high spirits despite the windy start. Luckily the sun came out around lunch time, and everyone had a really great day on the course. Attendees included football legend Alan Shearer, who joined on the Sunday following an emotional Saturday spent at the Newcastle United Carabao Cup parade and celebrations.

The first golfers’ tee’ed off at 10am on Sunday morning in high spirits despite the windy start. Luckily the sun came out around lunch time, and everyone had a really great day on the course.

The hole-in-one competition on the 14^thhole was sponsored by Berry’s Jewellers where players stood the chance to win an Omega Bond Seamster watch worth £9500 – needless to say everyone got involved! Unfortunately, none of the players managed to make the shot.

The final team finished playing around 6pm and joined the other players in the club house where there was a great atmosphere and smiles all round.

Day two saw the first golfers teeing off at 8:30am, off to a chilly start, the players were happy to start their day with a shot of fine Scottish whisky to warm up before enjoying another amazing day on the course with blue skies and lots of sunshine.

The day two hole-in-one competition was on the 11^th hole. This time the prize was sponsored by Aston Workshop in Beamish where players could win an Aston Martin V8 Vantage N420 Roadster worth £40000. One of only six ladies who entered the competition came extremely close to winning the prize, with her ball landing only four feet from the pin!

A special mention goes to Berry's Newcastle and Aston Workshop for their incredible contribution to the event. The hole-in-one prizes were a highlight and added an extra touch of excitement and generosity that made the event even more memorable. A big congratulations to the overall tournament winners – John Dunn and Colin Sanders!
