Explore the sparkling mediterranean waters and dramatic scenery of Sicily and the Aeolian Islands on a yacht charter with West Nautical.
Buongiorno Sicilia! After settling on board it is time to relax.
Syracuse embodies Sicily’s timeless beauty. Ancient Greek ruins collide with dazzling baroque piazzas while narrow side streets lead down to the sparkling blue sea.
Explore the city in the morning and then spend the afternoon anchored off one of the nearby secluded beaches.
Drop anchor in the bay of Taormina where the tender will take you ashore for your day trip to this picturesque town, built on terraces flowing down to the sea.
Take a walk over cobblestone piazzas, elegant shops and charming cafes while you make your way to the Greek theatre. The spectacular theatre is situated in a beautiful setting, with Mount Etna prominent in the background.
Stroll along Taormina’s central street with its excellent shopping possibilities and stop for lunch in a trattoria, enjoy breathtaking views from its terrace and its authentic Sicilian cuisine, bursting with fresh Mediterranean flavours.
If you are the adventurous type and the spectacular view from afar is not sufficient, there is always the possibility of taking an excursion to Mount Etna.
End the evening with a delicious dinner before you head back down the cascading terraces leading to the coast and back to your yacht.
Today you will pass through the historic Strait of Messina, once greatly feared by sailors throughout history and the subject of monsters in Greek mythology, but nowadays the Strait is no match for your luxury yacht and is a great destination where you can enjoy views along the scenic banks on your approach into port.
The third largest town on the mainland, Messina has much to see. Visit the gothic cathedral and fountain in Piazza del Duomo, a walking tour is recommended before stopping for fresh Sicilian lemonade or granita.
In the afternoon you will cruise on to Stromboli, spend your time relaxing and sunbathing, or for those who prefer to dive beneath the water’s surface, scuba diving opportunities are numerous and inviting.
In the evening dine at one of Panarea’s exclusive restaurants with views of Stromboli in the background, if you are lucky you may witness an eruption lighting the night sky.
Welcome to Marina di Portorosa, spend the day discovering this attractive place with its inviting beach surrounded by lots of greenery, its shopping centre and fashionable tourist areas.
Take a break in one of the local restaurants for lunch with a glass of Sicilian wine, before you continue your tour of the surrounding areas.
Several excursions to the countryside start from here and can be arranged according to your liking. Fishing trips are an immensely popular choice for visitors to discover the area.
Head back to your yacht in the late afternoon, for cocktails in the Marina followed by your choice of dinner, either onboard or in one of the gorgeous waterfront restaurants.
Wake up to the ever beautiful view of the Aeolian Islands and enjoy a fresh breakfast on deck while you head off for a day cruising these secluded island gems. Spend your time relaxing and sunbathing, or for those who prefer to dive beneath the water’s surface, scuba diving opportunities are numerous and inviting.
Drop anchor at an isolated bay near Salina for lunch onboard, before you continue the afternoon with water sports, fishing or snorkelling. For the restless adventurers among you, take the tender ashore and head out to explore the island of Lipari with its narrow and charming streets.
To perfectly end this beautiful day, sail over to the island of Stromboli, one of the few still active volcanoes in the world. If you are lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the volcanic eruptions lighting up the night sky. Anchor overnight near one of these enchanting islands.
Enjoy an early breakfast with a view over the mesmerising coasts of the Aeolian Islands, where you will find a vast range of unusual landscapes – from volcanoes to the quiet, sandy beaches of Salina up to the cliff-top meadows of Lipari.
Time for a swim and to sample a day of ‘dolce far niente’ – the sweetness of doing nothing. Enjoy time onboard, with the many water toys and delicious refreshments served to you on the sundeck. After lunch, head on to Panarea, the smallest island within this archipelago, take some time to visit the natural springs where you can enjoy a mud bath.
If you choose to join in some diving expeditions in the island’s famous diving spots, have the crew arrange it for you with the well-known diving centre, on Lipari, La Gorgonia. Sundowners will be served onboard after yet another memorable day.
Today you will cruise from Lipari to Vulcano, aptly named due to the considerable volcanic activity that occurs here at the 'Gran Cratere'. The sulphurous smoke creates incredible, dramatic scenery and offers the perfect opportunity for an atmospheric 45 minute hike to the peak.
After your hike cool off in the ocean before heading to the islands mud baths and hot springs which are said to have special healing properties.
Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the islands black sand beaches, before returning on board to prepare for your final evening meal. Choose to dine on board or head out to one of the islands wonderful restaurants.
The Michelin-starred Il Cappero comes highly recommended, serving Mediterranean cuisine with a modern twist created by a chef renowned for his imaginative style. Positioned out over the sea, the restaurant has a spectacular vantage point, the only place in the Aeolian Islands from where all the islands can be seen.
