We are delighted to announce the joining of 2 new West Nautical Employees, Roop Seewoonauth as Yacht Accountant and Baiba Calite as Crew Recruitment Consultant.

Roop will be based in the Newcastle office and will fully manage the accounts of our Yacht Management Fleet having joined us from a touring travel company in London where she worked as an Accounts and Payroll Assistant completing invoice payments and large payroll runs.  Roop will work closely with the Yacht Management team ensuring seamless yacht transactions and communication across the department.  Roop, originally from Mauritius and fluent in French as well as English, is a part qualified CIMA accountant, and hopes to finish her qualifications next year. Coming from a tropical island, Roop, who is a Liverpool fan, has always been interested in the sea and aquatic activities, and she says that swimming with whales is somehting on her Bucket List she would love to achieve. Joining West Nautical has given her a great opportunity for both career and personal development, where she humbly says that working in the superyacht industry will enhance my knowledge and skills.

Baiba is based in the North East of England and part of the Yacht Management team, whilst liaising with her colleagues in Antibes also for conducting face-to-face interviews.  Baiba's focus will be on all of West Nautial's recruitment services, assisting both our Yacht Management Fleet and our external client database by sourcing the best possible crew for available positions and providing a great service.  Baiba, who is a Manchester United fan (or was before Ronaldo left......!) is a qualified seafarer and has worked onboard yachts from 24-72 meters and luxury cruise liners for over 12 years, working up the rank of Chief Stewardess before leaving the sea to start her family. Baiba has fond memories of her time onboard yachts, where she recounts "running numerous successful film festival charters, the beautiful scenery and freedom" as her highlights.
